-Yes the name was intentional. Yes it does evoke feelings and thoughts of things, and they’re aware. He insists, though, that the name was chosen as a kind of tip of the hat to classic MMO PvP maps and modes. They think this gives off an MMO PvP feel and want to nurture that.
-Re: Balance – So a match will play out between 100 players, who will be split into 25 teams of four. Every team of four will have the same 8 champions to choose from. There will be DPS focus, healing, support, and flank style champions offered to provide balance. You can pick whoever you want, and currently you can pick dupes, but the idea is to form a little “raid party” with players fulfilling certain roles.
-You don’t have to stay with your team, but probably should.
-Some champs will probably be restricted from this mode if their abilities aren’t appropriate.
They’re very open to community feedback on the mode and will continue to iterate. They’ve held several playtests with pro Paladins players and said that everything has been well-received so far (doubt they would have told me otherwise)
